We find people often don’t know the difference between day of coordination duties and those of a wedding planner. A day of coordinator has different duties from a wedding planner.
A day of wedding coordinator gets involved in helping plan only certain elements of your wedding. They will get involved a few weeks and sometimes as much as a few months before the wedding day. The couple does most of the planning themselves and the coordinator will help you organize the details which lead up to the day and help you get organized. On the day of the wedding they oversee the event in a general sense to help make sure the details you planned are executed, such as vendor arrival and execution of events transpires as you desire. They are there to offer basic elements of support for a negotiated amount of hours. Usually the services cover only a few task related items to assist the wedding couple and general assistance as needed while there. The needed tasks and services are stipulated before the coordinator is hired. Even though there usually is a set base rate, this may be customized based on the client’s needs.
