Hi! My name is Laurel! Thank you so much for stopping by and checking out THE HIVE!

This blog originally started as a place to post updates about my paper company, The Lovely Bee. When I started, I didn’t expect this to turn into the lifestyle blog and personal creative outlet that it has since become! I’ve enjoyed the direction that THE HIVE has organically taken over the years and hope you enjoy the journey with me!

I married my best friend Price in 2009 and since then, we have grown our family by four precious dogs (two of whom have already gone to heaven), a little boy (Wilson – December 2014) a little girl (Lily Ryan – February 2016), and another sweet baby boy (Dempsey – November 2018.) I love my family so much!

I love a good margarita with a side of queso dip.

I LOVE to travel, whether it’s just down to New Orleans or across the ocean.

Speaking of New Orleans, I often crave the food from Elizabeth’s and Port of Call. I have vivid dreams about the amazingness of these restaurants!

My main gigs, wifehood, and motherhood, are way harder and way more awesome than I ever could’ve dreamed. So thankful that God saw fit to put my best friend and me in charge of our precious children!

THE HIVE, and @laurel_at_thehive on Instagram, which is a direct offshoot of this little blog, make up my full-time job now! I used to work at the most fabulous furniture store in the world, SummerHouse, but decided to step away and put all of my work energy here! And I still love stopping into SummerHouse because they’ll never be able to keep me away!! ha!

My second toe is longer than my big toe. Fair warning in case you ever catch a glimpse in a photo.

My relationship with Jesus Christ is the most important thing in the world to me!

My favorite colors are white and yellow. I’m liking pink a lot these days.

Many moons ago, I had a small modeling contract with an agency in New Orleans, which gave me a wonderful taste of the fashion industry! It was during that season that I discovered my love for Harper’s Bazaar and timeless fashion with a little edge. It was also during that season that I got to walk a runway for Betsey Johnson! XO!

I’m six feet tall. So sometimes when I wear heels, I may or may not be a smidge taller than my husband.

Speaking of him, my husband makes me laugh til my face hurts almost every day. I’m #blessed!

I’m honored that you’ve chosen to stop by! Thank you for the company!

Have a beautiful day and please check back often! XO!
