Anderson County Archives
Home

Anderson County Archives serves as a vital steward of local government history and heritage in Tennessee. The mission of the Archives is to receive, organize, and carefully preserve the noncurrent permanent records created by the Anderson County Government from 1811 to the present day. Through professional records management and conservation practices, the Archives ensures that important documents reflecting more than two centuries of civic life remain protected for future generations.

The Archives also functions as an invaluable resource for public research and discovery. It offers convenient access to a wide range of historical holdings, welcoming court officials, genealogists, attorneys, historians, and community members seeking reliable source material. Collections include marriage bonds, divorce files, probate records, wills, estates, chancery and circuit court records, tax records, and many additional materials that help tell the story of Anderson County. Public access is provided to all records except juvenile documents, and affordable copy services are available to support research needs, with both certified and non-certified options offered for a modest fee.
