US Food Safety Legislation is now law.

On January 4, 2011, US President Barack Obama signed H.R. 2751 Food Safety and Modernization Act (FSMA) into law. Wild bird feed companies will be required to follow the regulations to be developed by FDA in support of the language of the legislation. WBFI members will be kept informed of the regulations development.

The WBFI proposed a label format for packages of wild bird feed to AAFCO has been accepted. The label will be published in the Non-Pet Food Label Guide available from the AAFCO website.
