The Bears are back in town
Maybe, they never fully left? With bumper crops on nearly everyone's fruit trees, bears and deer will soon be amongst us in large numbers. I've deer fenced, attaching to tee posts above the low cyclone fence that was already there. Deer may stay out. Bears don't. They crash right through. Coming up, pitching apples daily across the street will help keep deer occupied elsewhere, hopefully.. Apparently, bears didn't get the memo.

Dear Jan,
Even though I've been gone from great Sierra Valley for 65 years, I still enjoy your Sierra Booster.
Thank you for keeping it coming. Wishing you all great health and happiness!

Please find enclosed check for a subscription to Kayla Myles Holt in Columbus, Georgia.
Kayla is a young veterinarian who would like to move west. Sierra Valley would be ideal for her and her husband so I am sending her the Booster.
Thank you,

I have been receiving the Sierra Booster for 23 years and thoroughly enjoy the articles highlighting life in Sierra County and surrounding areas. I was tickled pink to see such positive letters to the editor in the August 31st edition instead of the usual poop throwing hatred that litters that portion of the Booster by the 5-6 people who can't stand any one else's political opinion if it differs from their own. Maybe they should all get together once a month and sling it back and forth privately, so the rest of us don't have to see it. Just my two cents worth. Thank you for such a wonderful newspaper.

Editor,
Ahh, so the Republicans are trying to fool us for the umpteenth time. They are trying to not look so anti-abortion. I really think we are all prolife. So how do we do that? Well, we giveaway birth control, and advertise it like Budweiser. That way women don't have to die because of complications for which Republicans will not allow treatment. Women will not have to give birth to an unwanted or an unplanned child. Research had found that 20 years after Roe and several years after birth control became commonly used the crime rate and the admission into mental health facilities was significantly reduced. Would you like to raise a child in a troubled economically disadvantaged family?
