LIBERTY UTILITIES RATE INCREASE

Hello Janice,

Thank you again for the call yesterday. I hope you were able to reach Customer Care and that they were able to assist you with your personal billing questions.

In regards to the rate increase in general. As we discussed, the predominate rate increase went into effect in July 2023. As you may be aware, Liberty submits a General Rate Case to the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) and the CPUC ultimately approves or amends the proposed expenditures requested by Liberty and they then set rates accordingly. Here is some of the supporting information with regards to this most current rate case.

We notified all customers by mail when we submitted the application, which is also on our website: https://california.libertyutilities.com/uploads/21-408%20Liberty%20Rate%20Case%20Mailer_eng%20proof.pdf

We also created an FAQ for this application that is also on the website: https://california.libertyutilities.com/uploads/2022%20General%20Rate%20Case%20FAQs.pdf

And finally, a summary after the CPUC decided on the rate case is here: https://california.libertyutilities.com/uploads/General%20Rate%20Case%20Decision_Final.pdf

As you will notice the majority of the rate increase was driven by wildfire mitigation measures. I hope this helps.

Kind Regards,
-Kurt
