Not allowing certain books to be shelved in certain school libraries is not a "ban" any more than not being able to buy a bottle of booze at an elementary school means alcohol is banned from the community. Any parent who wants to show their kids the books in question is totally able to access one and give it to their kids. Having read a couple of them myself, I believe they do not belong in any elementary school. They are explicit, adult in nature. Why do people wish to destroy childhood? Try reading one out loud at the next school board meeting and see how that shakes out. I'm not sure who has read about this, but FBI crime statistics are no longer mandatory, they are voluntary. You can report them...or not. Currently, about 6,000 police agencies, including New York and Los Angeles, do not report their statistics. When political philosophies become more important than the populace, bet on the numbers, all the numbers, to bend in the direction of the politicians. The numbers currently reported by ICE absolutely run counter to crime levels decreasing, but we're supposed to believe "that's the way it is" from the same people who told us all about COVID.
