Dear editor at Sierra Booster,
I am writing as a resident of 362 Hillcrest Drive, Reno, NV, US, 89509. I'm calling on Representative Amodei to do more to prioritize our health, climate, and future. Northern Nevadans need you to:
Stop efforts to repeal the Inflation Reduction Act's climate and clean energy policies. This act has helped lower health care costs for Nevadans, it has created thousands of jobs here including in clean energy, and more than 41,000 Nevada families have benefited from tax credits. Nationwide, the Inflation Reduction Act puts us on a path to cut climate pollution 40 percent by 2030, create 9 million jobs, and lower energy prices.
Block the Trump administration and unelected billionaire Elon Musk from cutting vital government programs and staff to pay for tax cuts for the wealthy.
As a third generation Nevadan and a parent, I care deeply for my community and for the high desert that helps make this place special.
I urge Representative Amodei to protect Northern Nevadans over those who want to undercut the positive gains from the Inflation Reduction Act and other measures that prioritize the health of our people and our environment. We need you to fight for us!
Sincerely,
Kelly Tait

Sierra Valley Chamber of Commerce invites clubs and teams at the high school to be vendors at our craft fairs which are held in the summer at special events. These include the Car Show the second Saturday in June, the 4th of July parade, Arts and Ag tour in September and the Pumpkin fest the last Saturday in October.
In addition to holding bake sales or selling other homemade treats, we can offer some games the students can run. We have several and maybe some of the students or teachers have some as well they can use on the day of the craft fair. We will not be charging any vendor fee and all proceeds go to the team or organization. The carnival area is directly behind the chamber kiosk on Main Street. These events normally run from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. or the time students want to spend.
We can also donate prizes and will show the students how to do the games so they make a profit.
I'm very excited about offering this opportunity to our local students, and it will also create a fun day for kids and adults alike. That's my hope and plan anyway.
Please have teachers or coaches contact me directly about information and to answer any questions that they might have.
I can be reached at my home at 530 -993-4387 or on my cell phone at 530-249 -8262.
Thank you for taking time to tell the teachers and coaches about this.
Barbara Hill, President,
Sierra Valley Chamber of Commerce
