Fast forward to 2021 in a study of the most liberal and conservative lawyers and law firms in the top 140 nationwide, $61 million in contributions went to liberal Democratic-affiliated candidates/groups compared to about $11 million for Republican, a nearly 6-to-1 ratio. Basically only 10% of contributions went to major Republican groups/candidates. With 196,133 active attorneys in California, 67.08%, California has become the largest state bar in the country. Given those statistics in the aforementioned, it is safe to say that small law firms in California fall well within those statistic/averages and endorsing the LaChance campaign. Newson and his ilk have been trying to change the political and judicial landscape in conservative counties in Northern California for a long time. The redistricting of California was their latest attempt. Now it seems Newsom has the backing of our Sheriff who I voted for twice. One must question his motive and endorsement for his candidate for Superior Court. Yvette Durant, is a Democrat, and was appointed to our superior Court by Jerry Brown, (Moon Beam), leaving her position halfway through her tenure having been appointed by Newsom to the Super Court in Truckee. Make no mistake, these appointments were politically motivated by two left-wing governors. My opinion, I believe Jason LaChance is using this election as a steppingstone to further his judicial and political aspirations. Is this the kind of judicial leadership we need, or you want in this county? It is an elected position, contrary to LaChances comment on his website, he will be here until he retires, NO, you don't need a crystal ball to see that one coming and he's not even a resident. An editorial by Lee Kirby reads: “It is critical that a judicial candidate steer clear of association with a political party, referring to Dave Garners comments on political affiliation.” NOT TRUE: “Cannon 5 reads: “ A Judge or Candidate for Judicial office* shall not Engage in Political or Campaign Activity that is Inconsistent with the Independence,* Integrity,* or Impartiality* of the Judiciary Judges and candidates for judicial office* ARE ENTITLED to entertain their personal views on political questions.” So much for another lying liberal!
